Immigration software buyer's checklist for RCICs and firms
Choosing immigration software is a long-term decision. Your client files, forms and billing will live in it. Use this checklist to compare options fairly.
1. Is it built for immigration?
Generic legal or sales CRMs can store contacts, but they do not understand IRCC applications. Look for immigration-specific stages, forms and deadlines.
2. Forms library
Ask how many IRCC forms are included and whether client data carries across them. Re-typing the same details on every form is the biggest hidden time cost.
3. Deadlines and stages
Can you see every case by stage and by what is due this week? Can deadlines be attached to the case itself?
4. Invoicing and payments
Immigration work is often billed in phases. Check that you can invoice in milestones and see what is paid, due and overdue per case.
5. Document storage
Confirm storage limits, how documents attach to cases, and who can access them. Role-based access matters once you have a team.
6. Pricing you can predict
Compare per-user pricing with per-firm pricing at your team size, and check what happens to the price as you grow. See our pricing for an example of simple CAD plans.
7. Support and migration
Ask how quickly you get a human, and whether the vendor helps move your existing cases across. Support on deadline day is worth more than any feature.
8. Try it on real cases
A trial with your own files shows more than any demo. Book a call to start a 15-day immiBoard trial. You can also read our guide to what an immigration CRM does.
